Consumption

Consumo de Azeite

In the last 10 years there has been an increase in the world’s olive oil consumption of about 0,2% per year. This is due to the growing awareness of olive oil’s health benefits and also to the promotional campaigns sponsored by the European Union and the International Olive Council (IOC).

The European Union consumes around 52% of the world’s olive oil even with a strong increase in consumption by non-traditional consumer countries, such as the USA.
